logistics for a belarussian study visit

Rick is currently working with St George’s University Hospitals NHS Trust to support the World Health Organisation-funded visit of the Belarus national breast screening project team from Belarus to the UK. Whilst here the team will visit breast screening, assessment, quality assurance and quality control locations around England.


leadership development

Prof Peter Bradley and Jan have developed a novel development programme to support leaders at all levels find their own way of having the courage needed to lead well, with passion and not be afraid to fail. After an independent evaluation of a pilot course, we are now ready to deliver the course commercially as a new company - Bernache Leadership Limited.


Head of School, public health

As Head of the School of Public Health for Health Education England in the east of England, Jan is accountable for the training of public health consultants and practitioners in the region.


critical appraisal skills programme

Jan is working with CASP to deliver workshops on how to appraise published papers and make sense of what they tell you. This year Jan has developed an introductory video https://phelibrary.koha-ptfs.co.uk/casp/ as well as running sessions on systematic reviews and a train the trainer course.

screening qa service

Jan continues to work with the Public Health England Screening Quality Assurance Service to support assurance visits to NHS providers. She chairs multi-professional visit teams; visiting maternity, breast screening, diabetic eye and abdominal aortic aneurysm services across England.


the sparkle foundation

Jan has recently been working with The Sparkle Foundation who operate in a suburban district in Malawi to provide food, health care and education to children. Malawi is full of colour, smiles, poverty, friendliness, communicable diseases, hope, malnutrition, passion and energy. Both Rick and Jan learnt so much from the staff working to provide education, food and healthcare to vulnerable children on site and are wishing everyone all the best for current building project provide new classrooms, office space and toilets.

The UK Public Health Register is a professional registration service for public health specialists and practitioners who do not have a medical degree. It enables professional standards to be maintained and the public's interest to be protected. Jan has recently joined the small team of experts who moderate the assessment process which allows aspiring registrants to demonstrate their competence.
